Concurrent editing shouldn't lock you into Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Co-editing a Word document used to mean buying the whole Microsoft 365 stack. Google Docs forces every file through Google's servers. vBoxxCloud Collaboration gives multiple people simultaneous editing on .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files, with full Microsoft Office formatting fidelity, entirely inside your sovereign workspace. Real-time co-editing also takes pressure off email. Instead of mailing a draft, collecting comments and merging them by hand, everyone works on the same document and decisions are visible as they happen. The history view shows who changed what, so accountability is preserved.
How collaborative editing works
Double-click any Office file. It opens in a browser-based editor with the full Word, Excel or PowerPoint feature set.
See colleagues' cursors live. Comments, suggested edits and chat are all in-document. Conflicts are resolved automatically.
Every change is versioned. Revert by paragraph, by file or by user. Export to PDF or original Office formats anytime.
Where collaborative editing shines
Multiple authors edit a long proposal at the same time, comments resolved inline, exported to PDF for the client.
Shared spreadsheets with concurrent editing for budgets and forecasts, with formulas preserved across exports.
Decks built collaboratively with brand assets pulled directly from the workspace.

Why teams collaborate inside vBoxxCloud
Files stay in standard .docx, .xlsx and .pptx formats, so there is no proprietary conversion and no vendor lock-in.
Co-editing happens directly on files in your folders, with the same permissions as any other document.
Use the desktop sync client to keep editing in your local Office or LibreOffice install and resync when back online.
Frequently asked questions
Will my Word formatting break?+
No. The editor is built on OnlyOffice, which renders .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files with the same engine as Microsoft Office, including macros, conditional formatting and embedded charts.
How many people can edit at once?+
Dozens of concurrent editors per document, tested with 25+ simultaneous users. Larger sessions are available on enterprise plans.
What happens if two people edit the same paragraph?+
Changes are merged automatically using operational-transform algorithms. Conflicts surface in the comments sidebar for manual review when needed.
Can I work offline?+
Yes, use the desktop sync client to edit files locally in Microsoft Office or LibreOffice. Changes sync and merge when you reconnect.
Do my macros still work?+
Most VBA macros run inside the editor. Complex automations that depend on the Windows shell are best handled in desktop Office via the sync client.
Can guests edit a document?+
Yes. External guests can be invited as commenters or editors per document, with optional expiry on their access.
