Team chat, inside your cloud
Channels, threads, file mentions and screen sharing, built into vBoxxCloud. One login, one bill, one EU data perimeter.
- Public channels, private channels and DMs
- Mention any file or folder directly in a thread
- End-to-end encrypted message store
- Native desktop and mobile apps
Team channels and direct messages alongside your files, no second app, no second DPA.
WhatsApp and Slack mix work with personal data and split your context
When teams discuss work in WhatsApp groups or Slack, files, decisions and links scatter across apps. Sensitive information ends up on personal phones; onboarding new staff means hunting through three tools. vBoxxCloud Chat puts conversations next to the files they're about, same workspace, same permissions, same EU data residency. What teams actually miss in chat-only tools is the link back to the document the conversation is about. Decisions get made in a thread, but the file lives somewhere else, and a week later nobody can find both. Putting the two in one place keeps context intact.
How vBoxxCloud chat works
Public channels for company-wide topics, private channels for confidential work. Membership follows your existing workspace groups.
Paste any vBoxxCloud file or folder link, permissions are respected automatically. Recipients see a preview without leaving chat.
One search bar covers messages, files, attachments and channel history. Results are scoped to what you have permission to see.
Where in-context chat helps
A channel per project, files and decisions visible to everyone who joins later, including new hires.
Direct messages and channels alongside shared folders, with the same permissions everywhere.
Internal channels for triage, with file previews so support agents can see the attachment without a separate tool.

Per-user pricing without seat minimums or message-retention paywalls. Free history retention by default.
Frequently asked questions
Are messages end-to-end encrypted?+
Messages are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). End-to-end encryption for private channels is on the roadmap.
Can I integrate vBoxxCloud chat with other tools?+
Webhooks let you post messages from CI/CD, monitoring or ticketing tools. A public API for two-way integrations is available on request.
How long are messages retained?+
Indefinitely by default. Admins can configure auto-deletion per channel, useful for compliance regimes that require limited retention.
Can I export chat history?+
Yes. Workspace admins can request a full or filtered chat history export from support for legal discovery and compliance reviews. Self-service export from the UI is on the roadmap.
Can guests join a channel?+
Yes. External guests can be added to specific channels with read-only or contributor permissions, scoped to that channel only.
Is there a mobile app?+
iOS and Android apps cover messaging, file access and notifications. Push notifications can be filtered per channel or muted during focus hours.
