How it works

How Alan AI works

1. Ask anything

Open Alan from any file, channel or meeting. Ask 'summarise this contract', 'draft a reply', or 'what did we decide last week?'

2. Grounded in your workspace

Alan retrieves relevant files and messages (respecting your permissions) and grounds its answer with citations you can click.

3. Stays in the EU

All inference runs on EU-hosted infrastructure. Prompts and outputs are never used to train models. Conversations are stored only in your workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI model does Alan use?

Alan uses Gemma 4 31B, an EU-developed model by Comma Soft. All inference runs on infrastructure at Deutsche Telekom in Germany, fully inside the EU.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Our DPA explicitly forbids training on customer data. Prompts and outputs are not retained beyond the conversation context.

Can Alan answer questions about my files?

Yes. Alan uses retrieval-augmented generation against your workspace, and respects your permissions, so it never surfaces files a user wouldn't otherwise be able to open.

What can I do with Alan today?

Summarise documents, draft emails, translate between EU languages, generate meeting minutes from recordings, extract action items, and answer natural-language questions about your file library.

Can I disable Alan for some users?

Yes. Alan can be enabled per workspace, per group or per user, and disabled entirely if your policy requires it.

Does Alan work in my language?

Alan handles Dutch, English, German, French, Danish, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Swedish for input, summarisation and translation.
