How it works

How a business shares files securely with vBoxxCloud

1. Choose the file or folder

Select the file or folder in vBoxxCloud that your company wants to share with a client, partner or colleague.

2. Create a protected share

Create a share link or invite a guest, and decide whether the recipient can only view, download or also upload.

3. Keep control afterwards

Change or revoke access at any time, so files stop being available once the project or collaboration ends.

FAQ

Secure file sharing FAQ

How do I share a file securely with a client in vBoxxCloud?
You create a protected link to the file or folder in vBoxxCloud and send it to your client. When you create the link, you can add a password and set an expiry date, so the link stops working after the date you choose. For clients you work with regularly, you can invite them as guest users instead, which gives them access to the folders you select. Every view and download is recorded in the activity log.
Do clients need a vBoxxCloud licence to open shared files?
No, clients do not need a paid licence to open the files you share. A protected link opens in the browser. For longer projects you can create free guest accounts, so clients, suppliers and partners can open and upload files in the folders you choose. You decide which folders each guest can see, and you can remove guest access at any time.
Where are files shared through vBoxxCloud stored?
Shared files are stored in vBoxxCloud data centres in Germany and The Netherlands. A protected link does not copy the file to another service, so the file stays in the same European storage as the rest of your company files. Files are encrypted at rest and in transit, and vBoxx is ISO 27001 certified by TÜV NORD for how it manages information security.
Can I see who downloaded a file I shared?
Yes, the vBoxxCloud activity log shows who viewed, downloaded or changed a shared file, and when. This includes the activity of guest users, so you can check whether a client has received a document. If a shared file was changed by mistake, the version history lets you restore an earlier version of the same file.
